[SOLVED] Graphics card Compability problem

I have been using Ubuntu 9.10 but after the release of Ubuntu 10.04, I had been facing problems. And one of the problem was the Graphics Card compability problem. I could hardly see the contents and the menu. I thought I got some problem in my Laptop, but I was wrong, the problem was just with the ubuntu as I have nice and clear view in my Windows 7. As Windows 7 has cool and exciting look, that is the most great product Microsoft has ever released.

I tried for the help, but no help was found on the web. Then I went at the AMD support page and downloaded the driver. And I extracted the package and installed it. After I reboot, I went to my “Hardware Drives” and then it asked me for the driver, and Let it on the web, And then waited for sometime, It downloaded some file and then after a reboot, the problem was solved.

Couldn’t guess that It was so easy, hope this article helped you too. This is my personal experience that helped me work my driver.

I received a lot of calls regarding graphics card compatibility with windows 7… Nvidia cards are mostly incompatible with windows 7 64 bit. setup will not continue since what you’ll see is a black screen. one workaround to this is to proceed with the installation using the low resolution. after that you can update the driver but as far as i know, updating the driver still doesn’t work. you might need to switch to your on board graphics till the latest driver is released. i also tried disabling the display adapter.

These are just workarounds yet it doesn’t resolved the issue since you cannot use your graphics card.
